Statistics and chance: odds, combinations and overdue numbers

What draw history can tell you — frequencies, gaps, most drawn or “overdue” numbers — and the proper place of statistics in a game of chance.

The principle

A historical frequency describes exactly what happened. That is what makes it reliable: Visionary Stats Pro makes it readable, compares it and puts it at the service of your choices.

Chance over time

Every draw remains independent. On a large scale, however, the law of large numbers makes it possible to study how observed frequencies approach theoretical probabilities. Visionary Stats Pro uses precisely this historical depth to measure, compare and structure statistical information: frequencies, gaps, distributions, observed cycles and the stability of structures.

These observations describe statistical behaviour without turning a random draw into a certainty.

Most drawn numbers, “overdue” numbers

A number’s frequency counts how often it was drawn over a period; its gap counts the draws since it last came up. An “overdue” number is simply one whose current gap is long; a “hot” number, one drawn more often than expected over the period.

Neither is more likely to come up in the next draw: the balls have no memory. These measures serve to describe the history, compare periods and set explicit criteria on your grids — never to announce a result. Every Visionary Stats Pro view states the period it covers.

The combinatorial space, in figures

The number of different grids you can play is the most telling figure for grasping the scale of a game. These values are computed from each game’s current rules and checked by an independent calculation:

  • EuroMillions

    5/50 + 2/12

    139,838,160

    possible grids

    Top tier: 1 in 139,838,160

  • Loto

    5/49 + 1/10

    19,068,840

    5/69 + 1/26

  • Keno 56

  • Mega Millions

A EuroMillions grid is thus one combination among nearly 140 million. Ten distinct grids cover ten combinations of that space: ten distinct chances in nearly 140 million for the top tier, each grid keeping the same probability. Choosing which combinations to keep, and how many, is where the software helps you: structuring, comparing and checking the set you play, within the budget you set.

In Keno 56 and Amigo, you choose fewer numbers than are drawn (4 to 10 out of 16 drawn, or 7 out of 12): the number of possible grids is not the inverse of a winning probability, which depends on the prize table published by the operator (exact odds).

What Visionary Stats Pro optimises

Visionary Stats Pro optimises the way you select, structure and cover the combinations you choose to play. Each grid keeps its own probability; the value of VSP lies in the method applied to all your choices.

“Optimised” and “guarantee”: what these words mean here

“Optimised” always refers to a measurable, displayed criterion — coverage, diversity of a lot, chosen distribution — never to a chance of winning.

“Guarantee” refers exclusively to a combinatorial property, verifiable and conditional: “if the five winning numbers are among the twelve you selected, at least one grid of this lot contains four of them”. It says nothing about the probability that the condition is met: it concerns the coverage of the lot (lottery wheeling).

Replaying the past

Replaying a method on the history shows what it would have produced on those draws: a concrete way to compare two choices, place them and refine them.
